Finding the perfect foundation for mature skin (ages 35–75) is an ongoing journey. Our skin needs change, texture becomes a major factor, and hydration is non-negotiable. Recently, I tested three highly buzzed-about formulas: Giorgio Armani Lightweight Longwear Tinted Serum, m.ph by Mary Phillips Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation, and Hung Vanngo Beauty Red Carpet Skin Luminous Longwear Serum Foundation. While all three brought impressive coverage and color matches to the table, they perform vastly differently in real life. Here is my honest, unfiltered breakdown of how they stack up.
Round 1: Giorgio Armani Tinted Serum (Shade M1) 
As a loyal fan of the iconic Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, I expected this skin tint to deliver more of the same magic. Unfortunately, that was not necessarily the case.

- Formula Breakup: The product consistently breaks up on my skin as I am putting it on.
- Application Woes: I tested it with a Beauty-blender, a brush, and my hands. Hand application worked best, but it still required effort. It clings heavily to uneven texture and dry patches.
- The “Sit” Factor: Despite claims of 24-hour hydration, it feels like it just “sits” on top of the skin rather than absorbing naturally.

- Vitamin C (Brightening): True. It absolutely illuminates the complexion.
- Niacinamide (Smooths texture): False. On my skin, it did the opposite and actually enhanced my texture.
- Hyaluronic Acid (Plumping): Middling. Any plumping benefit is hard to enjoy when you are trying to get past the strong scent and the heavy feeling on the skin.
- Primer Intervention: It applied much better with my Sisley primer, but I still felt the need to wash it off after 8 hours just to get it off my face.
The Armani Verdict: Best for individuals who already have highly even skin with an absolute absence of dry patches. I am cutting my losses and saving this bottle to try again in the winter.
Round 2: m.ph by Mary Phillips Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation (Shade 150N)

The Silver Lining

- The Match: The shade 150N is another absolute perfect match for my neutral skin tone with neutral-to-cool undertones.
- The Comfort: Unlike the Armani tint, this one does not feel like it is lying on top of my skin. It is incredibly comfortable to wear.
- Rosacea Coverage: It completely covered my rosacea, delivering on its evening-tone claims.
The Reality Check

- The Coverage Reality: It is marketed as a medium, buildable coverage meant to complement “underpainting.” However, I found the coverage leans heavy.
- Daily vs. Event Wear: For someone who prefers a light skin tint for daily use, this is a bit too heavy for everyday wear. It is, however, wonderful for a full, “made-up” look when you want a flawless face for an event.
- Application Tools: A foundation brush is an absolute must here. Using fingers made the product look streak-prone, and a Beautyblender soaked up too much formula due to its thin consistency.

- Hyaluronic Acid (Plumping/Hydration): Unnoticed. I did not see any visible plumping benefits.
The m.ph Verdict: A fantastic option for a gorgeous event look, provided your skin is smooth and well-prepped first. However, I would not recommend it to people with oily skin.
Round 3: Hung Vanngo Beauty Red Carpet Skin Luminous Longwear Serum Foundation (Shade 11) 
Finally, let’s look at the Hung Vanngo Beauty Red Carpet Skin Foundation. I tried Shade 11, which felt just a hair dark on my skin, but it was still totally usable because it blends out so beautifully.
The Silver Lining

- The Discontinued Holy Grail: If you remember the legendary Dior Airflash Spray Foundation—my absolute gold standard that I even wore on my wedding day—this is the closest formula I have ever found to it. The application method is different, but the finish and coverage are spot-on.
- The Finish: I absolutely LOVED the radiant natural matte finish. It delivers a beautiful, soft-focus look.
- The Blur Factor: The absolute most blurring foundation of all three tested! It gives coverage comparable to Armani Luminous Silk or Westman Atelier/Dior foundation sticks.
- Weightless Feel: It feels completely weightless on the skin. No heavy, “sitting on top” sensation here.
- Product Synergy: It plays beautifully with other cosmetics, working equally well with both liquid and powder blushes. No setting powder is required.
The Reality Check

- Speed is Key: This foundation sets up very quickly. Do not dot it all over your face and wait to blend, or it will lock down before you get to it. You must work in quick sections.
- Two-Step Application: Apply it first with a foundation brush (a sponge will soak up too much of the liquid product). Once it is placed, go back in with a damp Beauty-blender to lock in that absolutely perfect, seamless finish.
- A Little Goes a Long Way: It packs a concentrated punch, so start with a small amount.

- Microspheres (Blurring effect): An absolute YES. The blurring performance is unmatched.
- Niacinamide & Licorice Extract (Smooths/Brightens over time): Too soon to tell. It definitely evens out the skin immediately, though I haven’t worn it long enough to evaluate long-term texture improvements.
The Hung Vanngo Verdict: The clear standout winner of the three. If you prep your skin well, this versatile, high-performance foundation will look incredible regardless of your skin type.
