Moving forward, I’ll be taking you along on my journey to discover new and emerging brands, looking a bit closer at their sustainability practices, and finding unique, high-quality items to add to your wardrobe.
To clarify, just because a brand is featured here does not mean they were just established yesterday. In fact, many of them might be long-time industry staples. However, at the time of posting, they are brands that are brand new to me—names I have never shopped before. Every single item I feature in this series is something I personally ordered, have worn in real life, and has earned a permanent place in my closet. These are brands I will absolutely repurchase from because the quality and value per dollar spent are well worth the price. Some of these pieces are items I have been searching for for years but could never find the right quality and fit. Others will be total impulse buys that turned out to be welcome additions to my daily style.

I initially came across this brand while searching for—yep, you guessed it—the perfect white t-shirt. It is the ultimate wardrobe staple, and I was on a mission to find the absolute best one on the market. Ironically, a white t-shirt is not actually what I ended up ordering first. Finding the Perfect Cobalt Blue: When it came to looking at all of the available colors and deciding which one to purchase, it was a total no-brainer for me. I had been searching for a true cobalt blue sweatshirt for a very long time, and this specific shade is absolutely stunning. It is the perfect, vibrant hue for summer. The brand claims that this is “the perfect sweatshirt.” We hear that phrase a lot in the fashion world, but this one truly earns the title. It is their all-time best seller for a reason. It is effortless, versatile, and easy to wear with literally everything already sitting in your closet.
It is exactly the kind of piece you buy once, fall in love with, and then keep coming back for in every single color.

Founded in 2020 by two friends and industry colleagues, perfectwhitetee was born out of a simple realization. Co-founder Lisa Hickey noted that there was a massive hole in the industry for a high-quality, year-round t-shirt brand where customers could reliably restock their favorite staples. 🌿 The Sustainability TakeawayWhat I appreciate most about perfectwhitetee’s evolution is their transparency regarding manufacturing. Instead of outsourcing their entire operation overseas to maximize profit margins as they grew, they made a conscious choice to keep 90% of their production local to California. By restricting their overseas manufacturing to just 10%—and reserving that strictly for specialized sweaters, wovens, and specific fleece fabrics from trusted partners—they maintain a tight grip on quality control while drastically lowering their shipping carbon footprint. It’s a refreshing, honest approach to sustainable scale.
Fabric Focus: The Superfluff Lux Fleece
The cobalt blue Ziggy sweatshirt I fell in love with is made from their custom-milled Superfluff Lux Fleece. The brand describes this fabric as pure perfection, and honestly, they aren’t wrong.

- The Weight: It is a 100% premium soft cotton at 280 GSM. While the brand calls it “superfluff,” I would argue it sits at a perfect, comfortable mid-weight fleece—not too heavy, not too thin.
- The Construction: They engineered a unique “3-end fleece” process. The outside jersey layer uses a super-fine, ultra-soft 40/1 ring-spun cotton. The interior backing is knit with a thicker 6/1 ring-spun cotton to create a texture they describe as “marshmallow-like.”
- The Feel: It is double-brushed, triple-washed, and treated with a special enzyme rinse. The result? The very first day you open the package, the fabric already feels like your favorite vintage sweatshirt that has been washed 100 times. It gives you that lived-in, cozy nostalgia, but completely fresh and made just for you.
The Verdict
